Break Borders with E-Export: Export Opportunities Awaiting Turkey in 2025

In this period of global trade uncertainty, e-export has become one of Turkey’s fastest-growing fields. The e-export movement, which gained momentum in 2024, is expanding beyond borders in 2025 with strong incentives. Offering major opportunities especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), e-export makes it easier for local brands to appear on global platforms.

So, what are the e-export opportunities in 2025, and which markets provide advantages? In the continuation of this article, we examine both global trends and Turkey’s strengths, while exploring together the new opportunities offered by digitalization in exports.

Global Trends Shaping E-Export in 2025

E-export is no longer only about selling products; it also means telling a brand story. The year 2025 will be a period when transformation accelerates, borders are crossed digitally, and cultural exchange takes place through digital channels. Especially changing consumer behaviors, artificial intelligence-supported processes, and the expansion of micro-export are among the key topics of the year. With AI-powered systems, personalized campaigns and product recommendations for consumers are becoming increasingly common. As a result, both conversion rates increase and a loyal customer base is created.

Turkey’s Digital Export Power: Which Countries Stand Out?

Turkey is expanding its global goals in the field of e-export in 2025. With the strategic support provided by the Ministry of Trade, companies’ access to new markets is becoming easier, and target countries are becoming more diverse. Thanks to support programs specially prepared for high-potential markets, Turkish brands are becoming more visible in global competition.

As of 2025, the white goods and small household appliances sector has the largest share in e-commerce volume, standing out with a transaction volume of approximately 233 billion Turkish liras. The electronics sector ranks second with a volume of 135 billion liras, while the clothing, footwear, and accessories category ranks third with a volume of 127 billion liras.
Within the scope of digital exports, Turkey has placed countries that are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, such as the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Nigeria, and Saudi Arabia, on its radar. An additional 20% support is provided for e-export activities targeting priority markets.

The Chinese market, which is one of the global leaders in e-commerce, has also been included within the scope of support programs. Thanks to marketplace commission support for China, an important barrier to Turkish brands entering this huge market has been removed. Technology, baby products, and healthcare categories stand out particularly in the Chinese market.

Within the scope of the “Far Countries Strategy,” companies operating in niche fields such as personalized products can benefit from commission support for leading marketplaces in the USA and Canada. This strategy makes these two countries, which have high-income consumer profiles, more accessible for Turkish exporters.

The E-Kolay Export Platform established by the Ministry of Trade supports companies in managing their e-commerce journey in a more planned and informed way. In addition to 18 different marketplaces operating in China, Russia, and Latin America, comprehensive guides prepared for 5 different advertising platforms help businesses choose the right channels.

Supports Awaiting Companies Engaged in E-Export in 2025

The supports provided by the Ministry of Trade within the scope of Decision No. 5986 allow companies to take stronger steps in digital markets in 2025. These supports do not only cover expense items; they also provide significant contributions to branding, promotion, logistics, and operational processes.

1. Digital Marketplace Promotion Support

Promotional activities carried out by companies on international digital marketplaces (such as advertising, content, SEO, etc.) are covered under this support. Up to 60% support can be provided for promotional expenses in target countries, while this rate can reach up to 80% for priority countries.

Expenses related to logistics operations such as storing, packaging, shipping, and return processes of products to be sent abroad are covered within the scope of order fulfillment service support. This support, which enables orders to reach customers quickly, provides an important advantage especially for companies aiming to strengthen customer experience.

2. Warehouse Rental Support

Creating a physical presence abroad is one of the most critical steps that increases the reliability and delivery speed of e-export companies in that market. The Ministry of Trade provides Warehouse Rental Support for companies that want to take this step. Within this scope, 50% of the rental expenses of warehouses rented abroad are covered by the government for up to 3 years for each country. Moreover, warehouse support is not limited to a single location. Companies can receive support for up to 25 different units.

The maximum support limit determined for 2025 is also remarkable: Up to 13,980,253 TL of support can be provided annually for each warehouse unit. This amount represents a significant cost advantage for companies managing large-scale operations.

3. Order Fulfillment Service Support

Within the scope of the support, the expenses related to order fulfillment services provided by companies, E-Export Consortia, retail e-commerce websites, and marketplaces are supported at a rate of 50% for a maximum period of 3 years for each country, provided that these orders do not exceed 10% of the company’s total e-commerce sales in the relevant country.

4. International Marketplace Integration Support

Software development costs required for each platform to be integrated are covered by the Ministry of Trade. This support includes cloud service fees required for systems to operate properly, annual maintenance and repair expenses, and platform setup costs.

E-commerce sales commissions earned by the integrator through marketplace integration, taxes (excluding indirect taxes), and other deductions/fees are not eligible for support. A 50% support rate is provided for a maximum of 6 marketplace integrations. The maximum support amount to be provided for each marketplace for a period of 3 years is determined as 557,727 TL.

The New Customs Policy of the USA

The new import tariffs announced recently by US President Donald Trump are reshaping the rules of global trade. While major production powers such as China, Vietnam, and Europe are facing high additional tariffs, Turkey stands out as a notable exception in this landscape. This is because the additional tax rates applied to Turkish products remain relatively low compared to competitors.

According to the decision, an additional 25% customs duty will be applied to vehicles imported into the USA, while additional tariffs of up to 40% will be applied to many other products. While this development puts many major exporting countries, especially China, in a difficult position, it has unexpectedly placed Turkey in an advantageous position.

Products coming from Turkey face the lowest rates under this new tax system. You can enter the US market with competitive prices and offer your products under advantageous conditions. In other words, you have the opportunity to sell products of similar quality at much more affordable prices compared to products from China or Europe.

Recommendations for Those Planning to Conduct E-Export to America

The path to success in e-export is not limited to having a good product or an affordable price. Delivery time is one of the key factors determining customer satisfaction and therefore your sales volume. At this point, keeping your products in a warehouse within the USA provides significant advantages in terms of both speed and cost. Products shipped from Turkey to the USA generally take 7-15 days to arrive. If your product is already stored in a warehouse in the USA, it can reach the buyer within a short period of 2-3 days. In a market where fast delivery habits such as Amazon Prime are common, this difference directly affects purchasing decisions.

If you want to conduct e-export to the USA, it is highly important that your first step should be establishing an American company. The reason is not only related to legal advantages but also closely connected with visibility, trust, and how algorithms evaluate you. As President Trump stated: “Those who do not look American cannot win.” This statement is not only a political message but also provides an important clue about how American marketplaces operate.
